Child Safety Standards
Last updated: September 10, 2026
Baristafy, LLC ("Baristafy," "we," "us," or "our") has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) on our website at baristafy.coffee and our mobile application (together, the "Service"). This page describes our published standards, how we handle reports and child sexual abuse material (CSAM), how we comply with applicable child safety laws, and how to reach our child safety point of contact.
1. Our Standards
Baristafy exists to help people discover and review coffee shops and coffee products. The Service is not directed to children, and our Terms of Use require every user to be at least 13 years old. Regardless of age, we prohibit any user from using Baristafy — including reviews, comments, messages, profile photos, or any other content — to:
- Sexualize, exploit, endanger, or abuse a minor in any way;
- Share, request, solicit, or link to child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form;
- Groom, sextort, or otherwise attempt to establish inappropriate contact with a minor; or
- Use Baristafy's messaging, reviews, comments, or photo features to facilitate any of the above.
Violating this policy results in immediate removal of the content, termination of the account, and reporting as described below. This is a permanent, non-negotiable standard — it applies to every account on Baristafy without exception.
2. How to Report a Concern
Anyone — including users without an account — can report suspected CSAE or CSAM, or any other child safety concern, directly from within the app or website using our Contact Us form, under the topic "Report Abuse or a Child Safety Concern." Reports sent through this topic are routed directly to our child safety point of contact (below), separately from routine feedback, so they are never delayed by being mixed in with general inquiries.
If a report involves content depicting a specific user, review, photo, or profile, please include a link or as much identifying detail as possible so we can locate and act on it quickly.
3. How We Handle CSAM
When we become aware of apparent CSAM on the Service, whether through a user report or our own review, we:
- Immediately remove or disable access to the content;
- Terminate the account(s) responsible;
- Preserve the content and relevant account information as required by law, solely for the purpose of reporting to authorities; and
- Report the content to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via its CyberTipline, and cooperate with law enforcement requests and legal process.
We do not view, distribute, or retain apparent CSAM for any purpose other than legally required reporting.
4. Legal Compliance
Baristafy complies with applicable child safety laws, including mandatory CSAM reporting obligations under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A for U.S.-based electronic service providers, and cooperates with law enforcement and regulatory authorities investigating child exploitation. Nothing in our Privacy Policy limits our ability to preserve, access, or disclose information to comply with these obligations.
